Niiiice.

Yeah, I think I'm pretty much going with "one name" - but this is still a pseudonym, although I'm sure if I do get published and recognised, folks will learn my "everyday name" (which is nothing like this one).

I like the subtle changes - like Iain Banks publishes mainstream fiction but when he's doing sci-fi it's "Iain M Banks". Subtle. If I do that chick lit thing, I'll just use "Carlee Schwilk"C.E. But I LOVE the pen name generator. It named me Lady Bonbons. Or I could use the formula of pet/street/fav author and be Chuck Henrietta Vonnegut. That wouldn't be easily forgotten. :-) Anne R. That sounds really, neat, Jami! I think that would a cool, quirky layer to add to a novel - having character cards or otherwise something about your book in this pocket-size format. Very interesting!

Thanks so much for the comment. :) I can always use that REASON to pacify my husband if I'm sitting around making ATC's instead of writing!! LOLC.E. I've done very small amounts of scrapbooking, and I can see these as being similar but on a more manageable level of trying to finish a single card rather than a whole book.

Maybe I shouldn't tell you this... :) But do you know that some romance authors have trading cards? They'll put their book cover or a character image on the front and a book blurb or character stats on the back. One Romantic Times convention, there was a whole group all passing them out (so I heard--I wasn't there).

Anyway, maybe that's inspiration for you to finish your book, right? Then you could go to town and show those authors how to *really* do trading cards. You definitely go...Thanks for the comment, Angela!

You definitely got some serious commitments there! I don't know how I could do it if I were a pantser. At first, I thought I was - I get a lot of little "vignettes" (mostly inspiration) like that - random writing, but I've tried HARD to just "let it flow". What I find is that I go nowhere and get lost too easily. ;) It ends up being an unfinished paragraph on my harddrive.

Strongly developed characters will do whatever it is they want to do! :) Maybe if you start small - one sentence for your beginning, one for your middle and one for your end. Then again - if you've had this much luck being a pantser, why change??? It obviously works for you and that is ALL that matters!

I'm sure I'll be blogging all about my NaNo experience here. I've been doing it since 2003 and that was the ONLY year I "won" (because I had a detailed outline LOL) every year since I've just tried to "let go" and I'm dead in the water after 15K words!!!C.E. This year will be a little tougher to pull off because I'm in the midst of editing to get the first book of the zombie west series out before the end of the year. BUT, I want to do Nano too, so we will see how it goes.

I need to be a plotter. I do. Except I never have been. I'm a pantser, which can be fun but also incredibly difficult, too.

I've heard of the snowflake method so I will need to go check that out. If I could just plot the book, everything would be so much easier, yet the idea of doing so makes me cringe a little inside--I like to see what my characters come up with on their own.

Let me know how the NaNo goes.
